Welcome to One World One Heart!

owoh 2001 lg

It’s time to visit blogs from the far corners of the globe! If you would like to join the fun, click HERE.

To introduce myself I’ll start with a fairy tale because everybody needs a story.

DCF 1.0

And yes, I am an artist though I also have a day job, and yes, I do live under trees.  I love to make vintage style jewelry and stitch needlework – I have a thing for pincushions. I also do shabby scrapping and collage.

The trees and the tiny house are in the Verde Valley of northern Arizona -

DCF 1.0

Let’s step out the gate and visit -

The Verde Valley

DCF 1.0

The historic mining town of Jerome on the slope of  Cleopatra Hill

DCF 1.0

The open pit above Jerome where they had to take off the side of the mountain because of the mine fires that burned for years

DCF 1.0

The surrounding countryside

DCF 1.0

The ever-changing sky

DCF 1.0

Across the valley, up to Sedona and Coffee Pot rock

Over Midgley bridge

DCF 1.0

Up the narrow, winding road through Oak Creek canyon

DCF 1.0

Down the path to…

DCF 1.0

Oak Creek, then up the canyon to…

DCF 1.0

Flagstaff and the San Francisco peaks.

Thank you for visiting my part of the world and before you leave, please enter the drawing for a door prize -

DCF 1.0

A special, handmade something – Magic Gypsy’s Altar-in-a-Box. A tiny devotional to take with you to help keep those thoughts positive.

DCF 1.0

The inside, with the golden lotus and the pearl of wisdom

DCF 1.0

With devotional figure in place

DCF 1.0

The devotional figure – Quan Yin, goddess of compassion and mercy

If you would like to enter the drawing, please leave a comment and a way to reach you. I will draw the winner on February 17th, at 9:00pm Arizona time, and will announce it in a new post. Then I will email you or leave a comment on your blog.

Merry Meet Magic Gypsy - and what a wonderful introduction to your blog and your world - I really enjoyed visiting Arizona through your photographs - i have relatives out there but have yet to get to see them - your cat Titania gave me a jolt - she reminds me of my beloved Felix who I lost last year age 17 years - he was my familiar and has left a big gap - although I have three other cats they are not the same. Your altar is stunning and would have pride of place on my own Altar at home if I were to win it. Hope you will stop by my blog for my OWOH giveaway also BB x

Hi there,

I am sorry for the impersonal salutation, but I didn't find your name anywhere on your blog.

I can't believe how tiny your altar is -- great work! Thanks for offering such a treasure as your door prize.

Thanks also for posting all those wonderful photos. You can't imagine how many lovely memories they brought back. I guess I would post some of my own photos of the region, huh? However, I first have to bring them into a digital form -- and that's a lot of work considering that I have thousands of photos to work on. Hah!

I cannot BELIEVE I am just getting over here!! I LOVE the Altar In a Box - what a beautiful idea. I'm in the process of setting up my own altar at home and, well, how perfect would that be?

Those pictures of Jerome bring back so many memories. I used to travel out to Prescott for school and Jerome was one of our stopping places quite a few times. The views...ah, the views... :)

I will definitely be looking around your blog some more - thank you so much for putting this out there so we can connect!!
Namaste,
Lisa
