Where Bloggers Create 2014

Welcome!

Titania and Oberon are the studio hosts this year -

Brownie (the dog) has been doing this for a while and thought the cats should share the responsibilities for a change. The cats meowed loudly in protest and glared but to no avail, Brownie put his paw down.

My studio hasn't changed much this year and since some visitors have seen it clean I'll show you what it looks like the rest of the time, plus some of the things I make. I haven't been making much lately, my husband has cancer and I've been focused more on health and food and cures than creating. This kind of news is like being too close to striking lightning - you can't see or hear, you can't tell direction and you're just stunned for a bit. The creativity helps though, and my little shed in the backyard is a refuge. Without further ado...

The lower work bench with jewelry supplies

The upper bench with way too much stuff out

Yep, more stuff

The shelves across from the work bench

I use plastic boxes to sort projects

Paper crafting projects for Ali Edwards "One Little Word" 2014 project - you chose a word for the year and focus on bringing the word into your life. I was a bit skeptical when I started but no more - the word I chose was "free" because I wanted to be free of personal baggage and my attitudes have changed.

Some journaling for OLW

Some actions on which to focus

I also love fabric and have it stuffed in shelves and drawers

Lovely trims and doo-dads

I enjoy digital scrapping - an image to print on fabric for embroidery

A ghost in a cemetery for Halloween

An image to print on cardstock for an ATC or notes

Some vintage attitude

And who can resist such cute kitty cats? Thank you for stopping by! Click the WBC button at the top of the blog for more studios. Thank you, Karen Valentine of My Desert Cottage for hosting this funderful party!

First let me say I'm sending Positive Healing Energies and Prayers your way as you and your DH battle the Health Issues. As a Full Time Caregiver of three Loved Ones who have a slew of Medical Issues I have a point of reference to what a Life and Game Changer it can be! Creativity feeds and nourishes the Soul and most especially during difficult times... so our Creative Spaces can be a Refuge to Escape to in order to Quiet our Soul and remain Centered and Anchored during Life's Storms. Thank you for taking me on the Grand Tour of your Space and Sharing it, I see we Enjoy some of the same Stamping Images... isn't this Party Blog Hop such Fun?! I shall probably be up half the Night now visiting everyone and overdosing on Inspiration and Eye Candy... but oh, what a way to go, huh?

Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Thank you for the tour Titania and Oberon!

(Oberon, you look just like my Dakotah!)

What a wonderful place to escape life's issues for just a bit - a needed respite I am sure.

I am keeping you and your hubby in my prayers. Thank you for taking the time out to show us all around, or rather for the kitties to show us around this year. I am glad you have a creative outlet during all the stress of illness and caregiving.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's illness. I do hope that getting in the "creative zone" helps you as caregiver, to get a bit of a break. I think that creating can really help us in our spirits, and emotional and mental well-being. You've got such a nice space to work in. I also use clear storage a lot to store my things. I need to "see" what I've got. I do need to find a better way to keep my projects in progress from taking over though.

I enjoyed your piece about letting go. I have been trying to do that for over a year. I must try harder. I love your space, you are very organized. Thanks for taking the time to invite us in. Blessing to you and your husband. I am Janet from Graceful Rose.

Love seeing a space that's in such a great use, that's what its all about : ) But I understand the stress you must feel right now and I do hope and wish all the best of health for your husband and for you. That you get also time to create and do whats the best therapy ever, create!

You have a lovely space, I like the hints of pastels. The little cards are cute... and your cats great hosts, I especially like Oberons facial expression. He looks like a deep thinker.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband, may only good health enter your doors for now on.

All the best! Mari

I love your kitties, I love your space, I love the words written by Ali Edwards, it is amazing how life events can help us to put a focus on what is important, and what is not. My prayers go to you and your husband. I hope your blog and your creativity is a release for you during this time. Sometimes it is. Sometimes, it is a burden. Your readers will always be there. Take care. Thank you for taking the time to share.

New follower via WBC. I love all the color in your studio. The fabric caught my eye, and I imagined what I could do with that lovely stash. :) I'm very sorry your husband has cancer. Praying he'll recover, and that you will have the support you need to care for him. Gentle hugs ~ Nancy @ A Joyful Cottage
